David Robinson, born on August 6, 1965, in Key West, Florida, is a former professional basketball player who played his entire career with the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. Known as "The Admiral," Robinson was a dominant center, known for his shot-blocking and scoring ability. He won two NBA championships with the Spurs and was a 10-time NBA All-Star. Robinson was also a gold medalist with the US Men's Basketball team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Off the court, he is known for his philanthropic work and commitment to education, having established the Carver Academy in San Antonio to help at-risk youth. Robinson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
