He was known for his exceptional defensive skills, leadership qualities, and tactical awareness on the field. Cannavaro won numerous accolades throughout his career, including the FIFA World Player of the Year and the Ballon d'Or in 2006. He also captained the Italian national team to victory in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
