Gwen Ifill

Gwen Ifill was a pioneering American journalist and author, known for her work as the co-anchor of PBS NewsHour. She was born in 1955 in New York City and began her career in journalism at the Baltimore Evening Sun. Ifill later worked for The Washington Post and The New York Times before joining PBS in 1999. She moderated two vice-presidential debates and was renowned for her insightful political analysis. Ifill authored the book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama." She passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and excellence in journalism.
