St. Anthony of Padua, born in Lisbon in 1195, was a renowned Franciscan friar, preacher, and theologian. Known for his powerful sermons and miracles, he helped the poor and oppressed, earning him the title "Wonder Worker." His devotion to the poor and sick inspired many to follow his example. St. Anthony's teachings continue to influence the Catholic Church, with many seeking his intercession in times of need. Canonized as a saint shortly after his death in 1231, St. Anthony is revered as the patron saint of lost items and is celebrated worldwide on June 13th.
