Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States, serving from 1913 to 1921. Born in 1856 in Virginia, Wilson was a scholar and served as the President of Princeton University before entering politics. He was a progressive leader who implemented numerous reforms, including the creation of the Federal Reserve System and the passage of the Clayton Antitrust Act. Wilson also led the United States through World War I and played a key role in the creation of the League of Nations. His vision for a more peaceful world earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. Wilson's legacy is complicated, with his accomplishments in progressive reform and international diplomacy often overshadowed by controversies such as his support for segregation and civil liberties restrictions during wartime.
