Elvin Hayes, born on November 17, 1945, is a former professional basketball player renowned for his outstanding skills as a power forward/center. He played in the NBA for the San Diego/Houston Rockets and the Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets. Known for his unstoppable turnaround jump shot, Hayes was an NBA champion (with the Bullets in 1978) and a 12-time All-Star. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990 and is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
