Pieter van den Hoogenband is a Dutch former competitive swimmer born on March 14, 1978. He rose to fame as a multiple Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in swimming. Known for his exceptional performances in the freestyle events, he won a total of 7 Olympic medals, including 3 golds at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2 golds at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
