Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who gained fame posthumously after her diary was published. Born in Germany in 1929, she and her family fled to Amsterdam to escape the Nazis. The Franks went into hiding during World War II in a secret annex, where Anne wrote about daily life and her thoughts. Tragically, they were discovered in 1944 and sent to concentration camps. Anne died in Bergen-Belsen at age 15. Her diary, "The Diary of a Young Girl," has since become a poignant symbol of the Holocaust's human cost and is a testament to Anne's resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
