Jane Addams (1860-1935) was a prominent American social reformer, activist, and leader in the women's suffrage and peace movements. She co-founded Hull House in Chicago, one of the first settlement houses in the United States. Addams dedicated her life to improving the lives of immigrants and the working poor through education, social services, and community organizing. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 and is remembered as a pioneer in the fields of social work and social justice.
