Winona LaDuke is an environmentalist, economist, and writer known for her work in advocating for indigenous rights and sustainability. She is a member of the Ojibwe tribe and has been a prominent voice in the fight against environmental degradation and for the preservation of native lands. LaDuke co-founded the Indigenous Women's Network and the environmental organization Honor the Earth. She ran as a vice-presidential candidate for the Green Party in 1996 and 2000, bringing attention to indigenous issues on a national stage.
