Yevgeny Kafelnikov is a former professional tennis player from Russia, born on February 18, 1974. He rose to prominence in the late 1990s, winning the French Open in 1996 and the Australian Open in 1999. Known for his powerful groundstrokes and versatile playing style, Kafelnikov achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 1 in singles and No. 3 in doubles. Throughout his career, he won a total of 26 singles titles and 27 doubles titles. Kafelnikov was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2019 in recognition of his contributions to the sport.
