Vannevar Bush

Vannevar Bush (1890-1974) was an American engineer, inventor, and science administrator. He played a pivotal role in the development of the atomic bomb during World War II as head of the U.S. Office of Scientific Research and Development. Bush also proposed the concept of the Memex, an early form of hypertext and the precursor to the World Wide Web. His work laid the foundation for modern information technology and communication systems. Bush was a visionary thinker who made significant contributions to science, technology, and national defense.
