Guglielmo Marconi, born in Italy in 1874, was a pioneering inventor and electrical engineer known for his groundbreaking work in the development of long-distance radio transmission. He successfully sent the first wireless signals across the Atlantic Ocean in 1901, revolutionizing communication. Marconi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909 for his contributions to wireless telegraphy. His work laid the foundation for modern telecommunications and earned him the title "the father of radio." He continued to innovate in the field of wireless communication until his death in 1937.
