Tim Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist credited with inventing the World Wide Web. Born in London in 1955, he studied at Oxford and MIT. In 1989, he proposed the concept of a system to share and distribute information electronically, leading to the development of the first web browser and web server. Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to oversee the web's continued development and ensure its accessibility. He has received numerous awards for his pioneering work in connecting the world through the internet.
