John Tyler was the 10th President of the United States, serving from 1841 to 1845. Born in 1790, he was a Virginia lawyer and politician who also served as a U.S. Senator and Governor of Virginia. Tyler became President after the sudden death of William Henry Harrison, making him the first Vice President to succeed to the presidency. He was known for his strict interpretation of the Constitution and his strong belief in states' rights. Despite being expelled from his political party during his term, Tyler was able to achieve several accomplishments, such as the annexation of Texas. He passed away in 1862.
