Swami Vivekananda, born in 1863 in India, was a key figure in the introduction of Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. He travelled extensively, spreading the message of Hinduism and advocating for religious tolerance and harmony. Vivekananda's famous speech at the World's Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893 brought him international recognition. He founded the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, promoting social service and education. Vivekananda's teachings on self-realization and spirituality continue to inspire millions worldwide. He passed away in 1902, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and compassion.
